The White House has signaled a back-to-school social media push as students across the US begin the 2026–27 academic year.
“Today we are back-to-school posting. Class is in session. Stay tuned,” the White House said in a post on X on Monday, 24 August.
The post did not announce a new education policy or provide details of any upcoming initiative. Instead, the “stay tuned” message suggests that further school-related posts or videos may follow.
The timing comes as students return to classrooms in Washington, DC, and other parts of the country for the new school year.
The Trump administration has also issued a back-to-school message from President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, encouraging students to focus on learning, hard work, character and leadership.
For now, the White House has not said what its next back-to-school posts will focus on. Further updates could provide more details about the administration’s message for students, parents and schools.
In a later post on X, the White House expanded its back-to-school messaging by highlighting what it called “education freedom” for families. The post pointed to school-choice tax cuts, a greater role for states in education, an executive order concerning women’s sports and education innovation and research grants. The White House presented these as key parts of the Trump administration’s education agenda.
