Jennifer Lopez is celebrating a major milestone for one of the biggest songs of her music career. Her 2011 hit “On The Floor,” featuring Pitbull, has surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify, officially placing the track in the platform’s Billions Club. Lopez marked the achievement on Instagram alongside Spotify and Pitbull.

Lopez shared a celebration post with the message, “It’s a new Jeneration of party people… in the Billions club. Thank you for dancing with me!” The milestone comes more than 15 years after the song was first released, underlining how strongly the track has continued to connect with listeners across generations.

A Major Milestone for J.Lo

“On The Floor” is now Jennifer Lopez’s first song to cross 1 billion streams on Spotify. The achievement adds a significant streaming milestone to a song that was already one of her biggest commercial successes.

Released in 2011 as the lead single from Lopez’s album Love?, the track featured rapper Pitbull and was produced by RedOne. Its production combined electronic dance-pop with Latin influences and incorporated the melody associated with “Llorando se fue,” the song popularized internationally by Kaoma’s “Lambada.”

The song was an immediate global success. In the United States, it reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, while it topped charts in several other countries. It also became one of the best-selling singles of 2011, with more than 13 million copies reported sold worldwide that year.

From 2011 Hit to Streaming Favorite

The Spotify milestone shows how the life of a hit song has changed in the streaming era. “On The Floor” was already established as a major dance track, but its audience has continued to grow long after its original chart run ended.

The song also experienced renewed attention in 2026 after appearing in Prime Video’s Off Campus. A dance sequence featuring the track circulated on TikTok and Instagram, helping introduce the 2011 hit to a younger audience. Reports tracking the resurgence said the song subsequently appeared on Spotify’s Daily Global chart for the first time.

That renewed interest offers another explanation for why an older track continues to accumulate streams at a significant rate. Songs that become part of social-media trends, television moments or streaming playlists can find entirely new audiences years after their original release.

Pitbull Shares the Milestone

Pitbull remains an important part of “On The Floor’s” identity. His featured performance helped give the track its distinctive party-focused sound, while Lopez’s dance-pop style drove its international appeal.

Lopez also tagged Pitbull in her latest celebration, making the Spotify achievement a milestone for both artists and the song they created together.

Why the Billion-Stream Mark Matters

Crossing 1 billion Spotify streams is more than a large streaming number. For a song released in 2011, it represents sustained listening over a period of more than a decade.

“On The Floor” has moved from radio and physical sales to digital downloads, streaming platforms and social-media discovery without losing its place in popular culture.

For Jennifer Lopez, the achievement gives one of her signature songs a new chapter. A track that helped define her musical comeback in 2011 has now reached a completely different audience in the streaming era.

Fifteen years after its release, “On The Floor” is still doing exactly what Lopez intended it to do: keeping people on the dance floor.
