Lucien Laviscount is moving from Emily in Paris and recent romantic comedy roles into a much more dangerous setting. The British actor has joined Daisy Ridley in The Good Samaritan, an upcoming action-thriller directed by Taken filmmaker Pierre Morel.
The film has also secured a wide range of international distribution deals ahead of production, with cameras scheduled to roll this fall. Josh Duhamel and Sharlto Copley are also part of the cast.

Lucien Laviscount Joins Daisy Ridley
Laviscount will play Matt, the husband of Ridley’s character, Dr. Rosalind Carver.
The actor is best known internationally for playing Alfie in Netflix’s Emily in Paris. He was also recently seen in the romantic comedy People We Meet on Vacation, but The Good Samaritan puts him into a considerably more intense story.
Ridley plays Rosalind, a successful entrepreneur whose life changes after she and Matt rescue an injured man drifting off the coast of Indonesia.

Their mission goes beyond rescuing one person. They also attempt to expose a global trafficking operation that targets anyone who gets in its way.
Pierre Morel Directs the Action-Thriller
Morel is directing the film from an original screenplay by Matthew Ian Cirulnick, who previously wrote Rambo: Last Blood.
The director is particularly associated with action movies, including the 2008 Liam Neeson thriller Taken. That background makes The Good Samaritan a natural fit for Morel, with the story combining international locations, piracy, criminal networks and a high-stakes rescue.
Production is scheduled to begin this fall.
