Heidi Klum went big for her son Henry’s 21st birthday.
The supermodel surprised Henry with a red Ferrari F430 on Saturday, Sept. 12, fulfilling a promise made years earlier by his stepfather, Tom Kaulitz.
Klum captured the moment in an Instagram video as Henry walked outside with Kaulitz and discovered the car waiting for him.
“I can’t believe it is that time,” Klum told her son. “You’ve been waiting for so many years.”

Henry Won a Ferrari in a Mario Kart Bet
The Ferrari was not a completely unexpected promise.
When Henry was 14, he made a bet with Kaulitz while playing Mario Kart.
Henry explained the deal in an old video that Klum reposted on Instagram.
If Henry lost, he would have to stop playing video games for three months and make a painting of himself driving.
But if he won, Kaulitz would have to give him a Ferrari when he turned 21.
Henry apparently won.
Years later, Kaulitz kept his word.
Tom Kaulitz Bought the Ferrari Last Year
Kaulitz revealed that he purchased the Ferrari at an auto show in 2025.
He then kept the car hidden in the garage so Henry would not discover it before his 21st birthday.
By the time Henry finally saw it, he was stunned.
“Oh my God! Jesus Christ,” he said in the video. “I don’t even know what to say.”
He then walked around the red Ferrari, repeatedly calling the car “insane” and admiring its design.

Klum pointed out that Kaulitz had followed through on the deal they made with Henry years earlier.
“Literally, it’s what, seven years ago when you guys said that?” she said.
The original promise had been made when Henry was a teenager, making the birthday reveal the payoff to a bet that had lasted for years.
Henry’s Relationship With Tom Kaulitz
The Ferrari also reflects the close relationship between Henry and Kaulitz.
Klum has previously said that Henry enjoys talking about cars with her husband, who is much closer to her children’s age than she is.
“I hear [about] cars, my ears close,” Klum told Us Magazine. She said Henry and Kaulitz can discuss cars “like it’s science.”
Klum married the Tokio Hotel musician in 2019.

Klum has also spoken about the work ethic she wants her children to understand.
She said her children have seen that her career involves much more than red carpets and photo shoots.
“They see how many conference calls I do with producers to come up with concepts and photo shoots,” Klum previously said.
She also described family dinners as a regular part of their lives, giving the children time to talk about their day.

For Henry, the birthday gift was the end of a promise that began with a teenage video-game wager.
Kaulitz bought the Ferrari a year before the reveal and kept it hidden until Henry turned 21.
The result was a birthday surprise Henry clearly did not expect—even though he had technically won the Ferrari years earlier.
