Busan Film Festival 2026: Hyun Bin, Lee Min-ho, Jung Woo-sung and Isabelle Huppert Lead Star-Studded Lineup
The 31st Busan International Film Festival has announced the lineup for three of its major audience-facing programs, bringing together some of South Korea’s biggest stars alongside acclaimed international filmmakers and actors.
Hyun Bin, Lee Min-ho, Jung Woo-sung and Isabelle Huppert are among the headline names confirmed for the festival’s Open Talk, Outdoor Stage Greeting and Talk-to-Talk programs.

The festival will take place from Oct. 6 to Oct. 15 at the Busan Cinema Center and other venues across Busan. The 21st Asian Contents & Film Market will run separately from Oct. 10 to Oct. 13.
Hyun Bin, Jung Woo-sung and Lee Min-ho lead the star lineup
One of the most anticipated Outdoor Stage Greeting events is scheduled for Oct. 7, when director Woo Min-ho will appear with Hyun Bin, Jung Woo-sung and Woo Do-hwan for Made In Korea Season 2.
The same day will also feature director Hur Jin-ho with Yoo Hai-jin, Park Hae-il and Lee Min-ho for The Assassin(s).
The Oct. 7 schedule also includes director Stephanie Ahn with Moon Choi and Son Sukku for Bedford Park, director Fujii Michihito with Yokohama Ryusei for You, Like a Star, and director Sato Sakichi with Sawajiri Erika and Maruyama Ryuhei for The Chain of Roses.
International representation will include director Feng-I Fiona Roan with Shuhua Yeh, Xuan Chen and Kent Tsai for Happily Ever After, as well as Kore-eda Hirokazu with Deguchi Natsuki, Makita Aju, Nanase Furi and Okada Rokka for Look Back.
Isabelle Huppert to close the Open Talk program
The Open Talk series begins Oct. 7 with a major Korean ensemble.
Director Lee Chang-dong will appear with Jeon Do-yeon, Sul Kyung-gu, Zo In-sung and Cho Yeo-jeong for Possible Love.
Other Oct. 7 Open Talk sessions include director Kim Ji-hyun with Ryu Seung-ryong, Park Hae-jun, Ong Seong-wu and Lee Sang-hee for Cattle Run.
Director Kim Jong-kwan will also appear with Kim Min-ha, Joo Jong-hyuk, Han Sun-hwa, Shim Eun-kyung, Jeon So-young and Kim Dong-hwi for The Table: Day and Night.
The program continues through the festival, with a special BIFF Discoveries: Rising New Talents session on Oct. 10 featuring Jeon So-young and Kim Dong-hwi alongside Sim Su-bin, who appears in both The Birds and The World Before.
The Open Talk program concludes Oct. 13 with Isabelle Huppert and director Marc Fitoussi, who will discuss their collaboration on All About Corinne.
More Korean stars join the Oct. 8-10 program
Outdoor Stage Greeting continues Oct. 8 with a wide range of Korean and international productions.
Director July Jung will appear with Kim Doyeon and Choi Wonyoung for Dora, while director Kim Joung-hoon will join Kim Jae-won, Cho Yi-hyun, Kang You-seok and Bae Gang-hee for Final Interview.
Another BIFF Discoveries session will feature Kim Doyeon from Dora.
The Oct. 8 schedule also includes director Hong Sung-min with Jung Sung-il and Park Ji-hyun for Sinner, and director Song Il-gon with Kim Hye-ja, Park Seo-kyung, Choi Ju-eun, Moon Seong-hyun and Lee Seyoung for Still Shining.
The international lineup includes director Kamila Andini and producer Ifa Isfansyah with Putri Marino, Christine Hakim and Arya Saloka for Four Seasons in Java.
Japanese productions will also feature prominently, including director Takemura Kentaro with Michieda Shunsuke and Anzai Seira for In the Clear Moonlit Dusk. Actors Michelle Mao and Jin Ha will appear for zi.
On Oct. 9, director Yeon Sang-ho will appear with Kim Hyun-joo for Paradise Lost. Other events include director Wang I-fan with Fukushi Sota and Han Ning for The Scar-Faced Cat: Way of Asura, and director Yoon Dan-bi with Sim Su-bin and Kim Eo-jin for The World Before.
Oct. 10 will bring another major Korean star gathering, with Shin Mina, Ju Jihoon, Lee Jongsuk and Lee Seyoung appearing for The Remarried Empress.
Kwon Haehyo and Park Miso are also scheduled to appear for Nowhere to Lay My Eyes.
Talk-to-Talk expands beyond film screenings
The festival’s Talk-to-Talk program will offer broader discussions about filmmaking and Asian cinema.
At the Busan Cinema Center Roof Theater on Oct. 10, the “Women Directors: Taking the Scene” session will feature Margherita Ferrari, Marjan Khosravi, May El-Youkhy, Michelle Zhou, Zainab Entezar, Jacqueline Lentzou and Julie Lecoustre.
At the HANMAC Smooooth Lounge, filmmaker Majid Majidi will discuss his career, including films such as Children of Heaven and Midday Meal, on Oct. 9.
Four Vision Korea panels are scheduled for Oct. 10 and Oct. 11, bringing filmmakers and actors together around projects including Things I Left at the Theater, Not for You, The Flower, Earbug, Some Detective, Nothing Has Happened Yet, The Birds, Space, Cosmic Trace, Baler and Beyond Love’s Horizon.
Another session, “Asian Cinema Through Global Eyes,” will bring together representatives from major Asian film festivals in France, Italy, the U.K., the U.S. and Japan.
Participants include Martine Therouanne of the Vesoul International Festival of Asian Cinema, Sabrina Baracetti of the Udine Far East Film Festival, Jeon Hyejung of the London East Asia Film Festival, Samuel Jamier of the New York Asian Film Festival and Teruoka Sozo of the Osaka Asian Film Festival.
The program also includes directors Marco Nguyen and Nicolas Athané for The Hottest Virus of the Year, “Jim Queen.”
Outdoor Stage Greeting wraps with international filmmakers
The Outdoor Stage Greeting program concludes Oct. 11 with several international-focused events.
An “Italy’s Fearsome New Directors” session will feature filmmakers and producers connected to Föa – Once Upon a Future and Deep Blue.
The festival will also host Inherit, with director Banjong Pisanthanakun and actors Davika Hoorne and Thitiya Jirapornsilp.
A joint stage greeting for the Flash Forward section will bring together directors Rhys Marc Jones, Jannis Lenz, Fernanda Tovar, Jacqueline Lentzou, Emmanuel Marre, Manuel Wetscher, Margherita Ferrari, Grzegorz Dębowski and Manuela Martelli.
The festival’s final Talk-to-Talk event on Oct. 13 will feature Kim Ah-young and Kim Seulki, who will discuss their transition from SNL Korea to film.
